We Love MCR Charity is our official Manchester charity partner

Department has announced We Love MCR Charity as our new official charity partner for Manchester, reinforcing our commitment to supporting the city and making a meaningful difference in our local communities. 

The partnership brings together two organisations aligned by a shared purpose: creating opportunity, building community and driving long term impact across Manchester. Here at Department, we’re known for creating design-led workspaces that help businesses start, grow and scale. At its core, the business is built on community. That same philosophy sits behind We Love MCR Charity, which focuses on supporting Manchester’s communities and helping young people across the city to thrive. 

As the charity states, its mission is to help Manchester’s communities and young people “not just survive but thrive”, a vision that closely reflects how we see our role with our members and within our city. 

SUPPORTING MANCHESTER COMMUNITIES AND YOUNG TALENT 

We Love MCR Charity focuses on three key areas that directly impact Manchester: 

1. Championing young talent by helping individuals overcome barriers and access new opportunities 
2. Supporting grassroots organisations that deliver essential services across Manchester communities 
3. Connecting communities and amplifying voices that might otherwise go unheard 

This shared approach makes the partnership a natural fit. 

Department creates environments where people and businesses can build and grow within Manchester’s thriving creative and tech ecosystem. We Love MCR Charity creates pathways that enable individuals and communities to access opportunity and realise their potential. Both organisations are driven by the belief that strong communities create stronger outcomes for people, businesses and the city as a whole. 

INVESTING IN MANCHESTER’S FUTURE 

Manchester is home to some of our buildings and a big part of the Department community alongside Leeds in the Northern Powerhouse. Working with We Love MCR Charity allows us to extend our impact beyond our spaces, supporting long term change across the city, from grassroots initiatives to future talent. The collaboration aims to support meaningful, long term change across the city, from grassroots initiatives to the next generation of talent. Together, Department and We Love MCR Charity are working towards a more connected, inclusive and resilient city. 

SUPPORT THE PARTNERSHIP 

Department members will also have the opportunity to get involved throughout the partnership. From fundraising initiatives to supporting We Love MCR Charity events across the city, members will be able to play an active role in driving impact. 

As part of this, we’ve been invited to take part in the Great Manchester Run on Sunday 31 May 2026. Through We Love MCR Charity, our community can access free places in the 10K and Half Marathon, along with a VIP experience at Manchester Town Hall, just moments from the start line. We’ve already started. Our Art Battle at Campfield brought our community together and raised £1,200 for We Love MCR Charity, directly supporting their work. This is how we extend impact beyond our spaces. Supporting communities, investing in people and contributing to a more connected, inclusive future. All upcoming opportunities, events and ways to contribute will be shared via the Department Members app, making it easy for the community to take part and support the cause.
