We’re excited to announce we’re all set for the second cohort of our award-winning Exchange programme at Department Leeds Dock.
If you’re a start-up in the creative, digital, media or tech sectors, take the chance to accelerate your business. Applications are open now until the end of August, with the second cohort launching 1st October 2024.
The Exchange programme exists to foster a thriving community of early-stage businesses by providing a network, valuable knowledge, and a collaborative workspace within Department’s coworking space at Leeds Dock. This initiative aims to drive innovation and economic growth within the region, contributing to Leeds’ reputation as a hub for creative and technological advancement.

- Longer-term support for alumni, including access to serviced workspace as your business scales.
- Access to our coworking space with wellness and social amenities, including regular member events, for a discounted rate of £75+VAT per month for the duration of the 6 month programme.

It’s going to be an insightful day filled with networking and valuable information.

- Built a network of over 35 mentors and advisors, 15 industry partners, and 12 venture partners.
- Supported 810 individuals and 188 businesses.
- Created 247 jobs directly within the programme.
- Seen alumni create an additional 1000 jobs post-programme.
- Helped businesses raise over £16 million in funding.
Is Exchange Right For You?
To qualify and become part of the community, check your business meets the following criteria:
- Trading for 0-3 years.
- Headquarters in the UK.
- You have a product or service ready to sell – launched or MVP ready.
- At least one active client or pilot.
- Between one and five employees.
- An ambition to grow and scale up.
- You can meet payments of £75+VAT per month for Department’s coworking space.
